CranioSacral Therapy with Felicity Goldring, BScPsych, BScPT, RPT
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) has its roots in the philosophy of early 20th century osteopaths. It was believed that the body is a self regulating and self correcting mechanism/organism. ie the body heals itself and seeks alignment. CST is a gentle light touch therapy that approaches the body from this perspective.
The CranioSacral system consists of the cerebrospinal fluid and brain, the spinal cord and its dural coverings. The CranioSacral system extends down from the skull and face to the sacrum or tail bone area.
Patients are invited to share their entire health history prior to experiencing the therapy. Using a variety of hand positions, restrictions in the skeleton, fascia and the Craniosacral system are evaluated. The areas of most restriction are gently and patiently held to support a physiological release. Heat may be produced, digestion stimulated and respiration calmed. This can promote a sense of deep relaxation for the patient, and can improve the function of the Central Nervous System.
Felicity focuses her CranioSacral Therapy work with people experiencing:

CranioSacral Therapy sessions are usually an hour long. Felicity often incorporates several minutes of CST in her Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy® treatments.
